Setting Honest Expectations — What to Expect After Painting
Our goal is clear communication before and after every project. On surfaces with existing peeling paint, the result depends on adhesion: paint that has properly bonded to the surface will remain. Paint that is loose or failing will be hand scraped and removed as part of our Level 2 Prep Process. After painting, surfaces that were previously uneven or damaged may still show some texture variation — ridges or surface irregularities may be visible. This is a normal result of painting over aged surfaces, not a defect in our work. We will walk you through what to expect at your pre-job consultation.
A proven system for a lasting exterior finish.
Our 4-Step Quality Assurance Process is designed to deliver durable, beautiful results — not just a coat of paint. Every home goes through this same sequence, every time, no shortcuts.
Power Washing — The Foundation of Adhesion
A clean surface is the foundation of a paint job that lasts. We power wash the entire exterior to remove dirt, dust, algae, cobwebs, and surface chalking — all of which prevent paint from bonding correctly. On delicate surfaces like stucco, wood trim, and soffits, we use a low-pressure soft chemical wash that cleans thoroughly without causing damage. Power washing is always completed and allowed to fully dry before any prep or painting begins.
- Full exterior pressure washed and rinsed
- Soft chemical wash on all delicate surfaces
- Completed and dried before paint work begins
Scraping, Priming & Surface Stabilization
This is where durability is built. Any loose, peeling, or flaking paint is hand scraped away to expose a stable substrate. We then perform minor surface repairs — filling cracks, gaps, and damaged areas with appropriate exterior-grade fillers — creating the smooth, stable base that makes a topcoat last. All bare or repaired areas receive a professional-grade primer coat before any paint is applied, ensuring maximum adhesion and preventing future peeling from the start.
- All loose and peeling paint hand-scraped and removed
- Cracks, gaps, and surface imperfections repaired
- Exposed or repaired areas primed before topcoat
Expert Paint Application — Right Tool, Right Surface
No two exterior surfaces are the same — and we don't treat them that way. We use a combination of professional airless sprayers, brushes, and rollers based on the specific demands of each surface. Large open areas are efficiently coated with airless spray for a uniform, factory-quality finish; tight trim, doors, and detailed areas are brush-cut by hand for clean, precise edges. All non-painted surfaces — landscaping, windows, doors, fixtures — are fully covered and masked throughout the entire process. Each application area receives a complete finish coat in your selected Sherwin-Williams product and approved color.
- Spray, brush, and roller applied based on surface type
- All landscaping, windows, and fixtures fully masked and protected
- Full finish coat applied to all designated areas
Final Cleanup, Touch-Ups & Walkthrough
The job isn't done until your property looks exactly as it did when we arrived — or better. All protective coverings, tarps, and masking are removed and disposed of properly. We thoroughly clean all plant beds, removing any paint chips or overspray that may have settled. A detailed final inspection is performed, and any imperfections are touched up on site before we leave. Leftover paint is properly labeled and left with you for future use, and we do a full walkthrough with you to make sure everything meets your expectations.
- All coverings, masking, and debris fully removed and disposed
- Plant beds cleaned and paint chips removed from landscaping
- Final touch-ups performed before walkthrough sign-off
- Labeled leftover paint left with you
